Shine On Award

I was delighted to be nominated for a Shine On Award by fellow Captonian and organic gardner of note, aristonorganic.  To see her blog, pop over to

I’m told this award is for blogs that

“shine, make you feel good and are inspiring to the reader”.

I in turn nominate these eight blogs that either inspire me to better my own craft, reinforce my belief that the world is full of wonder and I still have so much to learn and see and visit, or simply make my day each time a new post alert arrives in my inbox.  They are:-

  1. The lovely Janie at The Hedgecombers –
  2. Scarlet Nguni – I love the way Scarlet writes and can’t wait to read her “Ex-Files – the totally unabridged version” –
  3. Sarah at Diary of a House Elf – Sarah already has loads of awards, but she deserves this one too!
  4. Ingrid at Live Life RV –
  5. Kyla from OUT & ABOUT in the city who captures scenes from London and surrounds on film –
  6. Ann of Gaia Method who documents life on the West Bank of Luxor in Egypt –
  7. Yvonne and Herman of Green Cathedral – who share life in a village called Stanford on their blog
  8. rprtphoto – I can’t get enough of his colourful and emotive photos of his travels through Cuba –

Blessings to you all, Karen

  1. Congratulations lovely lady! So well deserved, your words and images cast such a magical, joyfilled light that does indeed SHINE. And a humble thank you too – so glad my disastrous dating past and eX-files (thank you to the boys/men who provided me with such amazing material) have found an appreciative reader. LOTS of love to you! Sx

    1. Awwww, thank you so much honeybunch! I have to thank the fairest Cape for giving me such a wealth of material to capture and share!!
As an aside, a day in the Overberg is never going to be enough to catch up/touch base!! Ah, yes, let’s give credit where due: We do have to thank the boys and men in your past for such amazing material, this is true. We’ll raise our glasses under your magical tree!! 🙂 Love and blessings, xxx, K

      1. Absolutely! The pay-forward and the post are absolutely gorgeous and thank you for your kind words about my scribblings and ‘painting with light’. I had better dig out that ice bucket! 🙂 xxx

      2. Love your light paintings and elegant work with the quill. Dig out the ice bucket, I’ll ready up the tree! And a fitting quote, in celebration of lovely award and all stars ::

“At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.” ~ Albert Schweitzer
