Stars on the Shoreline

Among the joys of the coastline around Nungwi in northern Zanzibar is the abundance of starfish.

As if Zanzibar isn’t already synonymous enough with brilliant hues of blue in the crystal clear aqua waters and blue skies – often even on a cloudy day – then imagine my delight when I came across blue starfish as big as my hand.

The rockpools at low tide are full other varieties, often tiny and fragile.

If this magical island isn’t already on your Bucket List, put it there 🙂
