Fireballs on the mountain

Roadworks between Kalk Bay and Fish Hoek have meant that additional traffic diverted along Ou Kaapseweg – which runs through Table Mountain National Park – has slowed down enough to take in a lot more of the natural beauty you might not otherwise see.

In the middle of nowhere, hanging valiantly from the cliffs, is a clump of brilliant red Crassula coccinea or Klipblom, like a glowing beacon against the rocky outcrops.
